Rowena caught up with Draco at the top of the stairs leading to the dungeons. “Looks like I’m not the only one up to something.” She was still a few steps up from him when he turned around.
He couldn’t hide his surprise completely. “What are you doing?”
“I’m sure my father would say all the Slytherin girls I’ve been hanging around have been a bad influence on me.” She shrugged a little. “You asked me what we were up to today, well, I’ll tell you.” His brow wrinkled slightly. “But you have to tell me what I want to know when I’m done.”
The wrinkles deepened and he didn’t answer for a moment. “Alright, but not here.” He sighed heavily and took her hand, pulling her down the stairs and into the deserted Slytherin common room. “What was Haverty doing?” Rowena took a deep breath and let most of the story out. She, of course, left out the Mary Sue problem, but the rest she let spill. When she finally finished the wrinkles in Draco’s brow had deepened significantly. “So that’s what Dumbledore was talking about… When he said that thing about the choices of his staff… well, now it makes sense.”
“Alright, now, your turn.” Rowena leaned back on the couch. “What are you all up to?”
Draco flopped back against the cushions on the couch. “Alright, do you know who Philbert Deverill is?” Rowena shook her head. “He’s the manager of Puddlemere United, and he’s got ties to a few of the death eaters that are still on the loose.”
“So Oliver is going to try to get him to give them up?” Rowena tried to reason through this new information.
Draco shook his head. “No, Dumbledore already tried. Snape and I have to get ourselves back into the good graces of the death eaters, Weasley’s been supplying them with the things they need for the past few months, and Wood is keeping an eye on Deverill. Thing is…” Draco rubbed his temple slowly. “Well, Bellatrix is pushing Deverill to get rid of anyone who isn’t sympathetic to her cause. The only reason Wood hasn’t been sacked is his friendship with Haverty’s brother and her family’s status. Though, now he’d probably have better footing if he told Deverill he’s banging a Slytherin…”
“Draco!” Rowena’s eyes grew wide. “You can’t…”
“I’m not going to say a word.” He raised a hand in a pledge to that affect. “I’m just saying, it’d make him look a whole lot better to Bellatrix. You know… she’s my aunt.” Rowena nodded. “And we’re related to the Havertys somehow too… I think our mothers were cousins on my grandmother’s side, but, like I said Azalea’s family has some influence.” Rowena nodded again, vowing to tell Azalea as soon as possible that her family might just be a bunch of Death Eaters. “Not that your other friends aren’t in the same boat, but well…”
Rowena cut him off. “I didn’t ask about my friends’ family histories, Draco.”
He sighed again. “Right. Well, Wood is trying to get in with the Death Eater connections on the team, and if he can, he’ll be in the same position as Snape, and me. Between the three of us, we should be able to get Dumbledore’s plan to work.”
“Dumbledore’s plan?” Rowena frowned. This didn’t sound good.
“Yeah. With the goods Weasley’s been selling to the Death Eaters, and the information we’ve been supplying, Dumbledore’s got a pretty good idea what they’re up to.” Rowena opened her mouth to question him further. “I’m not going to tell you, so don’t bother asking.”
Her frown deepened. “But if George is just selling them stuff…”
“It’s not that simple.” Draco rubbed his forehead. “They won’t deal with anyone they don’t trust. It took a lot of work, but Weasley’s got them convinced that he’s on their side. How he managed that, I’ll never know.” Draco shook his head. “So that’s it. We get information for the Order, and then we all take them down.” He motioned her closer to him. “Satisfied?” She nodded, but her frown remained as she curled up in his arms. He looked down at her and sighed again. “No, you’re not.”
She looked up and tightened her lips for a moment. “I just… well…” She twisted around to face him. “I don’t understand why we had to sneak around to find anything out.” She looked down at her hands for a moment. “We don’t need protecting.”
“Obviously.” Draco laughed a little. “Seems to me like Wood and Snape have their hands full especially.” He kissed her forehead. “At least I know my little Ravenclaw won’t get herself into trouble.”
“Of course not.” Rowena smiled up at him. “Of course, she can’t just let her friends run off without her help.”
Draco sat her up and turned her to face him. “Rowena, promise me, you won’t get involved in all this.”
She sat up a bit straighter. “Draco, I can’t promise you that.” He rolled his eyes and fell back against the couch. “But I will promise you that I’ll only help if I have to.” He rolled his eyes again. She curled up next to him, her head resting on his shoulder. “I can’t let you run off without help either, after all.” She looked up and their eyes locked.
He brought his lips down to brush against hers. She hummed lightly as he made contact driving him to deepen the kiss. His hands slipped to the hem of her skirt, resting comfortably on her thighs as she swung her leg over him, straddling him. She bent down to kiss him again, slipping her tongue gently between his lips. His quickly joined hers in the dance. Suddenly, he pulled back and reached over to the table beside them, picking up his wand. She looked at him, confused for a moment until she heard him mutter Evanesco and felt a breeze pass between her legs. Her panties were gone. “Where’d you learn that?” She giggled.
“Oh, an associate of mine.” He smirked up at her.
She quickly resumed their kiss and her hands reached down to deal with his belt. She worked slowly, enjoying the moans she caused every time her hand brushed against his hard-on. Finally she pulled down his pants and let out a bit of a giggle. “Did you vanish yours too?” He nodded naughtily and sat up, pulling her closer to him and kissing her once more. His hand slid up her thigh, teasing her aching sex as she’d teased him. She leaned back and moaned softly as his fingers found her entrance and slipped inside. “Mmm… Draco…” She moaned again as she grabbed his hand, pulling his fingers from her and lowered herself onto his stiff member. He gasped as she enveloped him completely. Her rhythm was slow, her hips rocking gently against him. He gripped her hips begging her to speed up, and gradually she did. Every time she moaned his name she felt him twitch slightly inside her. He tensed as her muscles tightened around him and she cried out. He kept his grip on her hips, and kept the rhythm as she came. His climax followed closely and they rode out the waves of pleasure together until Rowena collapsed on top of him. Slowly she rolled off of him, grabbing her own wand and whispering a quick Scourgify and curling up beside Draco again, on the couch. She looked up at him for a moment. “Draco?”
“Yeah?” He ran his fingers through her long, dark hair.
“What are the Death Eaters up to?” She heard him exhale loudly, and cursed her curiosity for a moment.
“Let’s put it this way. If you have tickets for the quidditch finals this year, I’d sell them off.” Draco pulled her closer. “Satisfied now?” He smirked slightly as she nodded. She started slightly as the door to the common room closed. Draco peeked over the back of the couch which, luckily wasn’t readily visible as one walked in, but still, Rowena held her breath. She heard a soft noise, something between a sob and a sniffle and a set of footstep going toward the girls’ dorm, and she wondered which of her friends it was. Draco frowned as he sat back down. “I don’t think Haverty is having a good night.”
