i really wanted to hit that feeling of normalcy again. show that not everything that happens to the girls and the men around them is terri-horri-bad. they all need that as much as you do. and so i thought letting the girls have some normal time with the people in their lives was a good way to go. this is what came of it...
to be honest, so much has happened to everyone in this fic that they should all be doing some sort of therapy. and, really, it should be happening in the books more than it is. everyone in the goddamn books needs therapy. Isis is a good Regina and she genuinely cares about everyone in her pride. she'd find herself remiss if she didn't do what she could to protect Lettie and the others like her.
Minette is trying hard to be more open and honest with her parents. she kept the truth from them for so long out of shame and fear. she doesn't want to do that anymore, so she's trying to be better about telling them the truth of the matter. that includes her love life. plus, she wants her parents to understand who she really is. that includes who she includes in her life.
Constance was not supposed to play a major role in the fic. but she took on a life of her own, and then suddenly, she was the one person who could maybe understand what had happened to Rhia and knew exactly how to help her. most of the girls are not equipped to deal with it. Janika might be the only one who is. so Constance ended up being the one to help Rhia and, suddenly, instant friendship.
i absolutely love Asher using that line. i really do. so i'm glad you enjoyed it, too.
glad you liked the chapter, hon. thanks for reading and commenting
