it does look like someone finally managed to make her understand how they feel and what she's done and how it affects everyone. and i'm certain there's more hurt to work through, but i feel like Remy is very much aware of how much he can actually dump before Dare pulls back again. i think things might finally be steady enough that they can actually figure out what the new normal is. though i'm sure that's going to take time because...
it will take her a while to work through all that fear. i don't think she'll ever fully be rid of it, to be honest. but i do feel like she will be able to get to a place where she can recognize it for what it is. her insecurities trying hard to fuck everything up for her. and maybe at a later date, when she can see it for what it is, she'll just laugh it off and keep going without giving in
i don't believe Logan was trying to scare her as much as he did. i think some of that is Dare just over-reacting to everything in much the way she always does. but, at the same time, i think Logan understood when he was talking to her that he needed to scare her enough to get her to think about everything. Dare has always been very reactionary and thought generally doesn't come until much later. so while it was kind of a dick move to scare her that much, it was also very much necessary to make her understand... everything.
i did enjoy the conversation between Dee and Roxxy. Dee is on the cusp of being a full on adult (not just because she's gotten her powers and, thus, hit puberty and started the process of physically aging, but mentally, as well) while still being young enough to get away with the whole little girl thing that still shrouds her. i don't think she could grow up with Dare and Logan for parents and not mentally age a bit. so it was a weird balance of keeping her enough of a little kid to need Roxxy's more mature mentoring yet still being mature enough to understand how things are changing for her and how she's going to have to adjust to those changes for her own good.
i feel like Roxxy might have some insight of her own where Dare and Haley are concerned. also, she knows better than anyone that visions aren't always what comes to pass. she'll probably chew on it later, when she's got time to really consider it. and she might even have that conversation with Henry. i'm sure he's been catching on to things here and there that are making his busy body side stand up and take notice. we'll see.
i'm sure Dee is also very curious as to what she's dreaming about. if she's just really dreaming or if she's having visions. nothing to do but wait and see how that all pans out.
i know that we've kind of pigeon-holed the girls into some roles in some ways and its a kind of lazy way to do things at times. but i just cannot see Roxxy as anything but the calm and collected member of the group who comes with a bit of sage advice. not that i don't believe she doesn't have her wild side. but this is just the version of her she's more comfortable with people knowing. if that makes any sense at all. also. anyone who tries to use Dee for her powers will be in a world of hurt. because if Dee doesn't flay them with her tongue, she's got a whole slew of friends and family who will be willing to do that to them in the most painful and physical way possible. do not fuck with the girl. do not fuck with her siblings. do not fuck with any one of those kids or you will bring hell down upon your shoulders and the only question is which version of it you get.
i'm so glad you enjoyed it, sweetie. i feel like i'm getting slower at the chapters and that irks me. i also cannot wait to see what comes next! thanks for reading!
