i tried really hard to make it a balance of strength and cattiness. i think Jean Claude decided to sit back and watch and see just what he'd gotten for himself in those women. that dinner was a perfect opportunity.

and Janika may be nothing more than a mortal, but she's done something that no one else can take credit for. she gave Asher a reason to go on when Anita died. that's a power that maybe can't be used to further a political agenda in the traditional sense, but its still a power that adds to Jean Claude's base.

more importantly, its a power that Belle can't understand. and Janika makes Asher happy. what more could you ask for.
