i keep telling you, the words aren't going any where. still, i'm glad you found time to read.
crafting my chapters is, more often than not, a by the seat of my pants thing. and the whole interaction between Johnny and Peter started with that goddamn basketball smacking Johnny in the side of the head. and it just kind of went from there. but i think it made sense to have Peter talking to Johnny. he needed that outside view to help him see just what kind of a jackass he was being. hopefully, Johnny will be able to talk to Haley and do so without losing his temper.
i have been actively working at trying to... shift the spotlight where Scott is concerned. i kind of feel like he got a raw deal in the canon fic. he was treated more as an antagonist than what he really is, which is a man who has immense responsibility sitting on his shoulders all the time. adding another team, a team made up entirely of (at the time) young girls... jts really no surprise he came across as an asshole to a bunch of late teens and early twenties girls. so, keeping in line with that notion, he would deem it his responsibility and duty to bench Dare and tell her that she has to prioritize her own health before anything else. even if that makes him the bad guy. and i feel like having him come to her and tell her that she was teetering was the last straw for Dare. she's spent the moments she was awake thinking about every thing she did after Sinister sent them home. and she's really kind of horrified by her behavior. so between that and having the people she's closest to telling her that she's risking losing all of it, she knows she needs help to fix it and she kind of hates herself a lot for what she's done.
she's going to call that one like she sees it. she knows exactly what Haley's doing and why she's doing it. she's going to make sure Scott knows, too.
